Thursdays, April 23–May 28 12:20–2:00 PM Series: $324 In this course, we’ll explore brush techniques, character structure, and the beauty of different script styles. Through guided exercises on lines, pressure, and movement, students will learn to connect mind, breath, and brush—discovering a state of flow through ink. All levels are welcome and all materials are supplied. Just bring your curiosity and a calm mind. You may be surprised at how meditative and grounding the rhythm of ink can be! About the Instructor Sinrong Chen is an artist whose practice bridges the traditions of Chinese calligraphy and ink painting with a contemporary sensibility. She has developed a style that emphasizes the fluidity of brushwork and the meditative rhythm of ink on paper. Her paintings often draw inspiration from nature—birds, flowers, and flowing forms—expressed through bold brushstrokes that celebrate both discipline and spontaneity. She sees the act of painting as a dialogue between control and chance, where each stroke captures a fleeting moment of flow.
