Three Gun Springs

Three Guns Spring Loop Moderate Sandia Mountain Wilderness 3.3mi Length 902ft Elevation gain 2–2.5hr Estimated time Loop The trail is clearly marked and offers an enjoyable day hike or trail run. As you begin to ascend, the trail becomes more strenuous and requires a bit more cardio effort. Fortunately, the trail is dotted with pine trees, providing some cover from the sun. This hike is perfect for the fall or winter season, but even during the hot summer, there are still occasional areas with shade. Make sure to take in the scenic views along the way! Just before reaching the "end" of the trail, there is a lookout point that offers stunning southern views, located about a tenth or two-tenths of a mile away. Bring poles if you need them, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and plenty of water, lunch or snack, raincoat, spikes in winter. Some may wish to stop for lunch in Madrid on return. so bring extra cash just in case. 138 miles round trip. so please give your driver at least $7. By attending, the Participant releases the Event Leaders from liability arising from the Event and assumes all risks of the Event, including: 1) injuries from falls, living things, pre-existing health conditions, vehicles, and weather, and 2) injuries resulting from the Event Leaders not undertaking the least risky option available (e.g., hiking a steep slope instead of a gentle slope) or not treating an injury in the optimal way (e.g., due to insufficient training). The preceding sentence supplements any other exculpatory arrangement to which the Participant is subject.
