NNO Book Club: Automatic Noodle

We had aliens making donuts (Light from Uncommon Stars) – so now let’s have bots making noodles. We are getting into the crazy busy time of the year so we have two months of novellas (aka shorter books) but both sound really good. For November, we are reading Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz. *\Book summary from Goodreads\** From sci-fi visionary and acclaimed author Annalee Newitz comes Automatic Noodle, a cozy near-future novella about a crew of abandoned food service bots opening their very own restaurant. While San Francisco rebuilds from the chaos of war, a group of food service bots in an abandoned ghost kitchen take over their own delivery app account. They rebrand as a neighborhood lunch spot and start producing some of the tastiest hand-pulled noodles in the city. But there’s just one problem. Someone―or something―is review bombing the restaurant’s feedback page with fake “bad service” reports. Can the bots find the culprit before their ratings plummet and destroy everything they created? \This month's restaurant selection\* We love this place and I am pretty sure based on our previous bills, they love us too. It’s been over a year and a half and it is time once again for Babushka's Hyde Park. You can check out the menu here: https://www.babushkas.us/hyde-park. And as I say every time, be aware that the street in front is one-way, so you may have to circle around. And there is lots of additional parking at the back in a lot right next to the Selmon. \Not sure about book club or never been to one before? \ Read the book (or some of the book). Come to the Meetup. Eat yummy food and chat with folks about what you thought about the book. REPEAT! \Not sure where to get the book? \ All books we select have a decent number of copies (at least 3-4 across all formats) at both the Hillsborough and Pinellas County Library. And, of course, you can always buy a copy. \\\*Didn’t finish/hated this…
