About this event

$10 for members and $20 for not-yet-members Limited to 25 attendees, register by 9/13 Register Join Icon Museum staff for an exclusive intimate evening of slow looking and shared discovery. Slow looking has become something of a popular phenomenon in the world of art appreciation. This practice invites us to step back from the flickering images of our fast-paced world and spend a generous amount of time observing a single work of art, uncovering details that typically go unnoticed. This practice lends itself particularly well to the icons in our collection, which were originally created for deep, prayerful contemplation. Attendees will break into small groups and will be guided through the slow-looking experience by members of the Icon Museum staff. Afterwards, participants will gather back together to share their observations over drinks and light refreshments. Signature cocktail or mocktail included!
