Girl Scouts: Gardens and Green Roofs
Daisy Girl Scouts will explore the world of city gardening and green roof design when they visit the green roof of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in downtown DC. While there, each participant will make a replica of the green roof to take home and nurture. Along the way, participants will learn about the critters that call gardens home and how composting can help feed gardens. After participating in this program, Daisy Girl Scouts will have completed the first step of the Flower Garden Daisy Journey, “It’s Your World -Change It.” Patches not included. This event will be hosted at ASLA’s headquarters. Location: American Society of Landscape Architects, 636 I St NW, Washington, DC 20001.
