School’s Out: Architectural Photography

School’s Out: Architectural Photography

Join the National Building Museum for a hands-on architectural photography workshop! Learn about the wonders of photography and how taking pictures can build a deeper understanding of architecture. Start with a crash course in camera basics, learning about settings, patterns and symmetry, and the rule of thirds, before heading into the Museum’s Great Hall and other public spaces to practice your skills. After capturing your best shots, return to the classroom to share and celebrate your work with the group. Cameras will be provided*, so all you need to bring is your creativity and curiosity. *Visitors are welcomed (and encouraged!) to bring their own camera, but must be able to operate it with the help of their adult. Note: This program is geared towards ages 8-12. Program tickets are $20 per participating child and $10 per accompanying adult, which includes admission to the Museum’s exhibitions About School’s Out! This program series offers kids a fun, hands-on way to explore architecture and design during spring break. Each workshop in the series features creative activities where children can build, learn, and engage with different design concepts. Kids will have the opportunity to explore new ideas, create their own projects, and discover Museum exhibitions. This series keeps kids engaged and learning during their break with interactive and educational experiences.
