About this event
**Art, Community & Connection: Free Third Thursday at MOCA** Looking for a fun way to connect with other gay women in Tucson while experiencing contemporary art? Join us for **Free Third Thursday at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson (MOCA)** on **September 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.** Come meet new friends, build community, and enjoy an evening filled with art, music, food, and drinks. The galleries will be open late, with **live music from KXCI Community Radio**, a local food truck serving up delicious bites, and drinks from **Brick Box Brewery** available throughout the evening. And there’s plenty to see! Two fabulous exhibitions will be on view in the East Wing galleries: ***Living with Injury*** explores the environmental justice movement led by Mexican American community members who fought against defense-industry pollution that caused widespread illness in Tucson’s Southside during the 1980s. ***Light as Resistance*** features paintings, drawings, video, and a site-specific wall painting by **Hima’s Ghost**, an artist collective formed by Dannielle Tegeder and Sharmistha Ray. So come for the art, stay for the music and refreshments, and make some new connections with other gay women along the way. **Let’s gather, celebrate community, and enjoy a great night at MOCA!** Admission is free.
