Far from the cities, rebellions, and wars of Midgard, Hveradal was supposed to be your sanctuary. Hidden deep within the Northlands, this geothermal valley of steaming hot springs, violent geysers, volcanic outcrops, and boiling mud sits at the absolute edge of civilization. You came here to disappear. Then winter arrives. The mountain passes close. The forests vanish beneath the snow. Hveradal is completely cut off from the outside world. And something ancient has come down from the mountains. An abhorrence once feared even by the Jotuns now stalks the valley. Sweet singing carries through the blizzard winds. Shapes with grabbing hands move through the deep snow. Residents begin to disappear. There are no wandering heroes coming to save you. You are the hermits, outcasts, survivors, and exiles holding the valley. Across 12 connected sessions, your 5th-level Tales of the Valiant characters will fight to survive a sanctuary that has become a hunting ground. You will face deadly weather, dwindling resources, isolation, and an apex predator that targets the weak and alone. The campaign begins with Session 0, where players will create their characters’ histories, homesteads, relationships within Hveradal, and the reasons they fled to the edge of the world. Expect private-room play, immersive maps and terrain, atmospheric music, physical props and handouts, environmental hazards, resource management, and a continuing story where your choices—and losses—carry forward from session to session.
