About this event
Lisa Miceli The focus of this workshop is on conveying floral forms through loose, expressive approaches to paint application. Students will learn to simplify the elements of flowers and create the transparency of petals using wet-into-wet watercolor methods, with attention to color, values, and a pleasing composition. Participants can experiment with drawing flower forms using a brush, a pencil, or acrylic inks, and washes may be applied over wet or dry ink to create interesting effects. The workshop uses photos, still life setups, and imagination to explore different ways to convey the color and beauty of flowers. Designed for any level of student, no prior art training is required. Saturday, 10am – 3:30pm October 17 Members $125 / Nonmembers $140 Class Supply List Please bring watercolor materials, plastic cups, a small spray water bottle, a backboard, and a table easel if you wish. Acrylic inks are optional; the instructor will bring sticks for applying ink and flowers for still lifes. Standing easels and tables are available in the studio. Students may bring their own reference photos, and watercolor demos will be offered throughout the day.
