About this event
This event will be held in the Grove Recital Hall on the Wenatchee Valley College campus. Elder Speak is a guided journey that honors, affirms, and brings forth the essential wisdom of our Elders. Through a transformative 10-month process, Elders meet in small groups with trained facilitators to reflect on their lives, uncover the wisdom within their experiences, and discover their value and place in the world as Elders. Their stories and reflections offer more than personal insight—they connect us to our shared human experience and remind us how to navigate difficult times, cherish the joyful ones, and cultivate gratitude along the way. Elder Speak teaches us about resilience while inviting all of us to recognize and honor the wisdom within our own lives. The Elder Speak Community Event is a celebration and culmination of this 10-month journey. Presented at the Snowy Owl Theater and the Wenatchee Valley Museum, the event brings the Elders’ stories and wisdom into the wider community. The program typically includes a short documentary created by local high school students, featuring interviews with the participating Elders. Each Elder then shares a personal Wisdom Statement and the significant life experience that gave rise to it. The evening concludes with an opportunity for the audience to engage directly with the Elders through a question-and-answer session. At its heart, Elder Speak creates a space where generations meet, stories are honored, and the wisdom of lived experience is shared for the benefit of us all. This event is free for Museum members and $5.00 for non-members. Click here to register.
