About this event

Dir. Robert Bierman. 1988, 103 mins. U.S. 35mm. With Nicolas Cage, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jennifer Beals, Kasi Lemmons, Elizabeth Ashley. This eighties comedy-horror freakout gave Nicolas Cage one of his most whacked-out roles, as a New York City yuppie literary agent who descends into cockroach-eating madness after believing he’s fallen for a sexy vampire (Jennifer Beals). Coming right of Moonstruck (which this movie also could have been titled!), Cage gives a genuinely weird, entirely committed, and gratifyingly berserk performance—the kind of high-wire acting that is a true special effect all its own. Set among the high-rises of midtown Manhattan and the downtown nightclub scene,Vampire’s Kiss is quintessential ’80s New York mayhem. Tickets: $17.50 / $12 senior and students / $10 youth / free for MoMI members. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership. Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission.
