About this event
Supplies are limited. Registration is required. Age 7+ recommended though open to all ages/flexible with family collaboration. This year, Deschutes Public Library is thrilled to host Michael Lavrich (“The Train Man”) and his incredible train collection. Michael has brought his trains to the Library for over two decades. Celebrate this time-honored tradition by creating a train-inspired tiny painting (6”x6” canvas) to be shown at the Central Library during the month of December. Join local artist Anastasia Zielinski as she walks us through the steps of creating our paintings. Paintings will be put up for display after drying, and participants will be able to pick up their art pieces in early January. About the Instructor: Anastasia Zielinski is a multidisciplinary artist and arts educator. Her practice centers around painting, fiber-based collage, and installation art. She received her BFA with a minor in art history from Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, NY 2005). Ms. Zielinski has shown her work nationally and internationally, creating site-specific installations for INSCAPE arts, Shunpike’s Storefront Seattle, Spaceworks Tacoma, and CLAVO. Recent residencies include Casa Lü and eeeee, both located in Mexico City. She is featured in issue #40 of CREATE! Magazine. Anastasia is one of the 2023 recipients of the Jerry Goldstein Foundation award. Ms. Zielinski currently lives and works in Bend, Oregon. See more of Anastasia’s work here. Questions?
