About this event
Art House Productions presents Threads of Tradition: Tracing Memory Through Tradition and Contemporary body Friday, October 23, 2026 at 7:30 PM Threads of Tradition explores the evolving dialogue between Chinese classical dance and contemporary movement, examining how cultural memory, personal identity, and traditional aesthetics are carried, transformed, and reimagined in the present. Through three distinct works—Her Letters, Perhaps, a Reed, and On the Other Side of the Mirage—the program explores connections between personal and collective memory, the resilience of the natural world, and the shifting boundaries between illusion and reality. Rooted in classical dance and expanded through contemporary movement, these works bring traditional aesthetics into conversation with contemporary experiences and perspectives. Together, they invite audiences to consider how the past continues to shape us, how traditions evolve, and how movement can express what words cannot.
