The Rabbit Listened

Join us for a visit with therapy rabbits after listening to the picture book The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerrfeld. Written and illustrated by Cori Doerrfeld, The Rabbit Listened is a heartfelt story about how to help after a tragedy. In the wake of a terrible loss, Taylor doesn't know where to turn. The story follows Taylor who experiences a terrible loss and is overwhelmed by big feelings. Various animals try to help by offering their own specific advice—the chicken wants to talk, the bear wants Taylor to get angry, and others try different approaches—but none of them fit. Finally, a rabbit arrives and simply sits quietly and listens, demonstrating the profound value of empathy, patience, and presence when supporting someone through grief or heartache. Questions?
