About this event

Followed by a Q&A with director Lynne Littman Dir. Lynne Littman. 1983, 89 mins. U.S. 35mm print courtesy of the Lynne Littman Collection at the Academy Film Archive. With Jane Alexander, William Devane, Roxana Zal, Ross Harris, Lukas Haas, Leon Ames, Kevin Costner, Rebecca DeMornay. No one who has seen Testament has ever forgotten it. Released at the height of the Cold War nuclear scare of the early 1980s, this harrowing, intimate drama stars Jane Alexander, in an Oscar-nominated performance, as a California wife and mother struggling to hold her family together after the unthinkable happens: a nuclear strike on the U.S. Keeping the focus entirely on one household and the tight-knit neighborhood around it, director Lynne Littman fashioned the scariest and subtlest movie about the end of the world in American cinema history. We are pleased to present this underseen masterpiece with director Littman in person. Tickets: $17.50 / $12 senior and students / $10 youth / $7 MoMI members. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership. Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission.
