Teen Book and Cinema Club: Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

About this event

Is the book really always better than the movie? You decide! "In this wondrous fantasy adventure, a boy follows a series of clues that lead him to a mysterious orphanage on a remote Welsh island. There, he discovers a community of children with unusual abilities, and learns he is destined to protect them." Join our new Teen Book + Cinema Club this Fall! We'll read a book throughout the month and then watch the movie adaptation together. Our spooky October title is "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children", by Ransom Riggs. We'll convene on Thursday, October 8h at 5pm in Novato Library's Community Room to watch the movie adaptation and vote on whether you enjoyed the book or movie more. Click here to place "Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" on hold. Note: starting September 10th, there will be additional copies at Novato Library's Teen Corner, first come-first served. Please be advised: this movie is rated PG-13. Ages 11-18 are welcome. Reading the book is not required to attend the movie screening, but is of course encouraged! Our November title will be: "The Little Prince", by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Click here to place the November title on hold. Want to join our Teen Book + Cinema Club newsletter? Sign up here.
