Celebrate a historic milestone with the Takahashi Market family and staff as they mark 120 years in business in Downtown San Mateo! Taking place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM in the front parking lot of Takahashi Market (221 S Claremont St), this festive block party thanks generation of customers, friends, and community partners. Enjoy a performance by the San Mateo Buddhist Temple Taiko, live Hawaiian music by P’maika’i, hula dancing by SMBT Gracious Ladies & Friends, raffle prizes, and food prepared fresh from the Takahashi Market kitchen. Pop-up vendor booths open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM featuring Sumofish, VH07V, and Asian American Curriculum Project Books. Please note that the main market store will be closed for the party, and there will be no parking in the store lot. Attendees are encouraged to use nearby public garages, including the Verkada lot on South Claremont Street.
