South Foothill Loop 8-Mile

Sometimes it’s nice to stay a little closer to home. Feels like we’ve been on the go a lot lately, so this weekend we’re heading back to the foothills. We’ll be doing the South Foothills Loop out at Copper Trailhead. About 8.3 miles with a little over 1,100 feet of elevation gain. A solid workout without having to drive all over New Mexico to get it. This trail has a little bit of everything. Open views, rocky sections, rolling terrain, and some really beautiful scenery tucked right here in Albuquerque. It’s one of those hikes that reminds you how lucky we are to have the Sandias right in our backyard. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and good hiking shoes. There’s not a ton of shade out there, and it’s starting to warm up. Let’s get outside, get some miles in, and enjoy a good day with great people. See you on the trails.
