As the last royal descendant of the Kamehameha line, she inherited vast lands and used her wealth to establish Kamehameha Schools, providing education and opportunities for generations of Native Hawaiian children. She is also remembered through the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, which preserves Hawaiian and Polynesian cultural and natural history.
