The Legacy of Prince Lot Kapuāiwa King Kamehameha V, born Prince Lot Kapuāiwa on December 11, 1830, was the last direct descendant of Kamehameha to rule Hawai‘i. He is remembered for strengthening the Kingdom, reviving traditional Hawaiian culture, and prioritizing the welfare of his people. Known for his moral leadership, he upheld Hawaiian traditions, opposed the sale of alcohol, and worked to ensure the prosperity and stability of the islands.
