Parker MacDonell celebrates the release of his new recording of original material, In My Years, with this special evening along with Phil Maneri on bass & vocals, Doug Morgan on vocals & percussion, Rick Waters on guitar, John Bellas on drums and Kevin Ashba on keyboards & vocals. The record was produced by Craig Carothers and features songs by Parker, Craig Carothers (Little Hercules) & Don Henry (Where’ve You Been), Keith Larsen (Hold On), Tom Ruegger (Animanics) and Bill Troy. This is Parker’s fifth record, following Home to the Heart (1983), Looking for You (1985), The Present Tense (2012) and Miracle on Broad Street with Matt Munhall (2017). Parker cut his teeth on the LA club circuit and toured colleges after releasing his first record. He has opened for or performed with Mary Travers, Air Supply, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. You can find him singing in his hometown of Columbus with his trio (Morgan, MacDonell & Maneri) and as a solo artist. The eleven songs cover a range of emotions from a life well-lived. Next To You imagines the arc of a relationship, while Never Trusted Happiness channels Robert Duvall in Tender Mercies. She Was, She Was is a long goodbye; After All takes a wistful look at faded love. Guy For That provides hope in a Jackson Browne-sized package, and Wedding Day Waltz is a celebration of a sacred day. Open Mike cuts like a knife through a hallowed songwriter tradition, then Better With You turns to a love story for the second half of life. I Can Breathe Now celebrates a life not lived in vain.
