About this event
Meeting Room 1, Meeting Room 2. Create your own rendition of Van Gogh’s Wheatfield with Cypress, 1889. All materials will be provided. Registration is required to reserve your seat. From beginner to professional artist, students leave their inner critic behind as they work at their own pace and embrace what comes off their brush with no judgement. Instructor Connie Manna guides students from a blank canvas to a complete a painting in one session using a masterwork for inspiration. Deviation from the masterwork is highly encouraged, so as to allow that inner artist to emerge. Connie Manna was born and raised in New York and earned her BFA from the School of Visual Arts. As a freelance illustrator, she has worked for such diverse clients as medical magazines, advertising agencies, book publishers, general interest magazines and computer software companies. Her work was included in Society of Illustrators 28th annual exhibition and catalog. Her work was featured in an article by Vivien Raynor for The New York Times Weekend Art Section. Ms. Manna exhibits in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington DC and at Michigan State University in the exhibition Creativity in the Time of COVID-19: Art as a Tool for Combating Inequity and Injustice.
