Page Arizona-Antelope Canyon, White Pocket and other awesome sites

This is a seven day outing to one of the most spectacular areas in the Southwest. We will stay in Page Arizona and visit the Paria Canyon - Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness and the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. We will also tour the lower and upper portions of the Antelope Slot Canyon. Antelope Canyon is close to Page and is known worldwide for its spectacular slot canyons. This is one of most beautiful slots in the world. A Navajo tour guide is required to visit the area where we will do a tour in the morning and another in afternoon. The tours will take about three hours total with less than three miles of hiking. There are five flights of stairs for the lower canyon. Participants will need to contact the tour guides to make reservations. Cost for the two tours is about $200 and dogs are not allowed. Information on the tours will be texted to participants. Another notable mention is a hike to White Pocket which is an unforgettable experience. The rock formations are absolutely stunning with colorful swirling sandstone outcrops in all sorts of shapes. The drive to the area takes 2.5 hours from Page and requires driving over long stretches of deep sand. 4WD high clearance vehicles are mandatory. We will be able to enjoy plenty of slick rock hiking with some light scrambling. The hike will be less than three miles with minimal elevation change. We will also hike in a number of areas west of Page in terrain that is the most diverse and interesting landscape in the country. Hikes will be about six miles or less and we will be hiking in sand and slick rock. Elevation change will less than 500 feet. Trekking poles and lots of water will come in handy.
