Off-Site. Join us as part of the North Shore's Trails & Sails to discover some of the secrets of the Old South Burying Ground on Boston Street in Peabody! Take a step back in time with us this fall and join us for a tour of the historic The Old South Burying Ground on Boston Street. During the tour, we will take time to highlight certain gravestones belonging to people of nobility, notoriety, and historical significance who lived in the area almost 400 years ago! The terrain may be uneven or wet when we go, so please dress appropriately for the weather and conditions. People of all ages are welcome, however we will be moving around the cemetery as a group and taking time to discuss certain headstones, something generally recommended for more mature audiences. Lastly, we will ask all participants to be respectful given the context of the tour. Defacing, defiling, or otherwise damaging any property within the cemetery is a serious criminal offense and proper authorities will be notified. We will meet at the cemetery gates at 173 Boston Street. Tour will begin promptly at 11:30. Please allow time to find street parking.
