Loft, Cherrydale Library. Play Mahjong at Cherrydale Library Mahjong, meaning “sparrow” in Chinese, is a game of strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. Originating in China, it spread internationally, evolving into different regional styles. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, join us for a game of 16-tile, Chinese mahjong. New to the game? Beginners are welcome! Our experienced volunteer will introduce the tiles and their suits, and the basics of a winning hand. For library patrons 14 . REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED. By registering, you will receive event updates. First-come, first-served seating. If we have enough players, we'll play in pairs. For more information, call Cherrydale Library at 703-228-6330. Please note that Cherrydale's Loft and public restrooms are only accessible by stairs.
