Jazzbird Nights: Marcos Crego

WHAT TO EXPECT Born in Havana, Cuba, José Marcos Crego Tamayo is a world-class pianist, composer, and producer whose vibrant career bridges Afro-Cuban roots and contemporary jazz. A graduate of the Amadeo Roldán Music School and son of legendary trumpeter José Miguel Crego “El Greco,” Tamayo has performed with renowned groups including Klimax, Los Dan, and the Afrocuban All Stars, appearing at major festivals such as Jazz Plaza, Curaçao Heineken Jazz Festival, and Pori Jazz Festival. At 21, he released his debut album Mi Música and has since collaborated on numerous acclaimed recordings, showcasing his soulful style, technical mastery, and deep musical passion. All ticket proceeds from this concert will benefit Harvest Compassion Center, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving children and families in need across Arizona. Through their “Food Banking Reimagined” model, they provide food, clothing, hygiene essentials, and hope; completely free of charge.
