Hike Ringwood Park for Fall Foliage Viewing

Hike in Ringwood starting at the Boathouse on Shepard Lake in Ringwood State Park. We will hike around Mount Defiance and finish back at the lake. It is a very scenic location at this time of year so the pace will be relatively leisurely to take time to snap some pictures and take in the views. Under AllTrails, the trail is: Skyland's Manor via Ringwood-Ramapo and Crossover Loop. Trail is about 4.0 Miles and 620 elevation. After the hike we will optionally visit the Monksville Reservoir viewpoint to snap some pictures of the reservoir (5 min drive). For those that are interested, we will then have lunch at the local diner in Ringwood (10 min drive along a scenic route). I estimate that you will be back in Central Jersey around 3:00 PM even if joining for the lunch. Notes: 1\. There are portajohns in the parking lot near the boathouse and a permanent bathroom facility by the Botanical Gardens\. 2\. Anybody that is looking to carpool from Central Jersey\, we can meet at the Target parking lot off Exit 135 of the GSP \(contact me and plan to meet at 9:30 for carpooling\)\.
