About this event
Tuesday | Ages 10-14 | $10 You can learn a lot from a cemetery. Each tomb is a tome of knowledge for those who know how to read it. In this program, students will explore one of Connecticut’s oldest cemeteries. They will learn how to extract information about the past from a cemetery: the age of a town, the things people believed, what they valued, how they died, and so much more. Students will learn to identify headstones from their material and imagery, decode the meaning behind common symbols, and piece together parts of Windsor history from stories set in stone.
