From there, we’ll head to Sweet Willow’s commercial kitchen, where the real transformation begins. You’ll learn to prepare the same root four distinct ways: Tincture — extracting elecampane’s medicinal compounds in alcohol for a concentrated, shelf-stable remedy Syrup — a soothing, kid-friendly preparation ideal for respiratory support Oxymel — the ancient honey-and-vinegar method, prized for its balance of sweet and sour medicine Vinegar — a mineral-rich extraction that highlights elecampane’s digestive-supportive qualities Along the way, we’ll talk through the “why” behind each method — how menstruum choice (alcohol, honey, vinegar) changes what’s extracted, how each preparation is best used, and how to store and dose what you make.
