Down to the Fifty-Four | AFA Gallery in Scranton Saturday, October 3–Sunday, October 4, 2026 | Saturday 1 & 7 PM; Sunday 1 PM Down to the Fifty-Four comes to AFA Gallery in Scranton, PA, on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4. Performances are Saturday at 1 and 7 PM and Sunday at 1 PM as part of the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival. Written by Scranton native Bill Savage, the play is set in New York City as the disco era meets the early 1980s. It follows Nick Cannon, a shy Columbia University student who decides to visit the legendary Studio 54. After changing his mind, Nick meets Marlena, an NYU student who brightens his outlook. He must then figure out how to explain his adventure to his suburban mother on Long Island. Savage brings the play to Scranton following a run at San Francisco’s Free-Play Festival. Tickets are $15. Down to the Fifty-Four brings Bill Savage’s story of an unexpected New York City adventure to Scranton.
