Dig Into Soil Nature Program
Dig Into Soil Nature Program at Riverview Park in Hannibal, MO on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
“DIG INTO SOIL! The Soil-Plant Connection” Let’s get our hands dirty as we dig into different types of soil and understand more about the connection to plants. The Midwest is known for having agriculturally productive soils. Different types of soil can help determine how plants access nutrients, hold and drain water, and other factors that support plant growth. Missouri soils tend to have more clay, but can also include sand, limestone, and other combinations of soil types. Soil is necessary to life, but how does it connect to us? Through the plants! The relationship between different types of plants and the soil that they’re grown in is an essential ecosystem story.
