Arbor Day celebration

There will be five new trees planted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in front of the Mark Twain Interpretive Center at 415 N. Main St. to celebrate Arbor Day. This year’s planting also honors the 150th anniversary of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” publication. The event is sponsored by Hannibal Parks & Recreation, Hannibal Tree Board, Hannibal Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum and the Arbor Day Foundation.
