The Carter County Geological Society Presents: Wildfire with Amanda Williams Join Amanda Williams, Extension Agent for Carter County, as she shares the history and developing practices of rangeland response to Wildfire on the Great Plains. Amanda Williams is the Extension Agent for Carter County, Montana. Amanda received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a minor in Natural Resources and Rangeland Management from Montana State University in 2018. Undergraduate research experiences at MSU and USDA-ARS Fort Keogh in Miles City sparked her interest in graduate school, and she finished her Master's Degree in Animal and Range Science at MSU in 2020. Her research project evaluated the effects of the Lodgepole Complex Wildfire, specifically the recovery and effects of grazing on the vegetative community. Following graduate school, she worked at Fort Keogh on various projects, including a drought and grazing study, and taught classes online at Miles Community College. She became the Extension Agent for Fallon and Carter Counties in 2021, and for Carter County in 2024. Montana teachers may earn 1 hour of continuing education credits for attending this free program.
