Beginning Fiddle Demo Class

Always wanted to play the fiddle? Join fiddle teacher Amy Cann for a free demo of Beginning Fiddle during the first class session to see if it’s for you! In this zero to toe-tapping class we’ll start with the very basics: how to hold the fiddle and bow with clean, relaxed technique that fits your body, how to “hear” and remember a tune. We’ll progress using classic melodies from the Irish, Old Time, New England and French Canadian traditions, and explore how to find and join a jam session or just play for your own joy at home. Written music will be available; recording device highly recommended. The first class is an open house – interested students are invited to come try it out to decide if they want to enroll.
