Beginner Still Life Drawing

This beginner-friendly drawing class is perfect for anyone looking to improve their skills. All ages Ongoing, Biweekly Sundays: 10:00am - 12:00pm. $22. **Attendees must pre-register through this link**: https://www.catalystartscollaborative.com/service-page/beginner-still-life-drawing-sun-10am-1 In this class, you will learn about and practice creating accurate lines, forms, values and shapes using vine charcoal, newsprint, and drawing paper. Each lesson will focus on a unique topic, including but not limited to: accurate foundational lines, values, multiple objects, drapery, soft and sharp edges, and organic and man-made shapes. For each class the instructor will provide a still life setup to learn from structured to that day’s lesson. As a group, we will learn from each other by sharing our work and discussing our challenges in brief critique. These still life drawing studies create muscle memory to more accurately draw objects without reference, allowing for an easier creative flow; practice makes progress! Please bring the following with you: \- Drawing paper \(14x17 or larger\) \- For shorter compositions and warmups\, we will use newsprint paper \(14x17 or larger\) \- Newsprint paper \(14x17 or larger\) \- Charcoal pencils 2B and 4B \- Kneaded eraser \- Compressed charcoal sticks 2B\, 4B\, 6B While we encourage you to purchase and bring your own materials to class (as it means you'll be able to practice outside of class with familiar tools), we always keep extra supplies on hand just in case!
