About this event
Registration is required. This workshop is intended for adults and teens. Join FlyCurious for a fun, beginner-friendly fly tying workshop. Learn what our native fish eat and how anglers imitate them with hand-tied flies. This workshop will cover the essential tools, proportions, and techniques to craft your own effective fishing flies. FlyCurious Fishing is where a passion for fly fishing and our aquatic and riparian ecosystems meets a purpose for creating community. They are more than a fly fishing nonprofit; they are a community dedicated to making the sport of fly fishing and the outdoors in general accessible and welcoming for all, with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community. FlyCurious believes in the transformative power of fly fishing and will meet you at your level, wherever that may be. Whether you're tying your first fly or mastering the perfect cast, they are ready to guide you every step of the way. Through inclusive instruction and a commitment to cold water conservation, they aim to bridge the knowledge gap, break down barriers, and create a space where everyone feels represented and celebrated. FlyCurious is committed to fostering meaningful connections, advocating for greater LGBTQ+ representation in the outdoors, and protecting the waters that inspire them. Join them as they cast toward a more inclusive, welcoming, and sustainable future for fly fishing and the natural world. Casting for inclusivity, catching community. Questions?
