An Operatic Panorama

Think opera is all tragic heroines, soaring voices, and people singing in Italian? Think again! “An Operatic Panorama” explores four centuries of opera through five wildly different works, revealing an art form that can be funny, political, sexy, mythic, spectacular, and surprisingly relevant to the world we live in today. Courtney Kleftis, your librarian, had a “past life” as a musicologist specializing in opera, gender, and queer studies. In this special program, she steps outside the world of books and literature to share her expertise and her love of opera with you. Free and open to all, no registration required. Questions about this event can be emailed to Courtney at ckleftis@yarmouthlibrary.org
