All my welding classes are made to accomodate beginners.* *Having said that, aluminum welding is **much** more difficult than carbon steel and stainless, so expect a challenging class if coming in cold.* In this class, you’ll be introduced to the art of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, or GTAW. You'll be walked through the machine, its settings and capabilities, as well as proper safety. Students will practice using both hands in sync to get the perfect rythm for achieving clean, solid welds. Each student will recieve 1/4" aluminum coupons they will tack into a formation with 4 of the major welding joints, the Fillet, Lap, Butt, and Corner Joints, to expose you to the most common joints in metal fabrication. Students will rotate between 2-3 different machines to learn the nuances between models and foot pedal types, as well as the difference between an air cooled welding machine and a water cooled welding machine. With the fine control of TIG welding you'll have the power to create sleek, strong and clean welds on aluminum!
