About this event
REFRAME: From Automatic Reactions to Intentional Living explores why we sometimes react in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Drawing on practical neuroscience, Nancy Post explains how repeated thoughts, emotions, and behaviors create neural pathways that can begin to run on autopilot. Defensiveness, rumination, people-pleasing, overthinking, and other frustrating habits are not fixed character flaws. They are learned patterns, and the brain remains capable of change. Through personal stories, leadership lessons, and accessible brain science, Reframe helps readers recognize the patterns shaping their reactions, understand what triggers them, and intentionally practice better responses. The result is greater choice in difficult moments, stronger relationships, clearer decisions, and more freedom to live in alignment with the person you want to become. Nancy Post is an executive coach, author, and former John Deere vice president with more than thirty-five years of experience in engineering, technology, manufacturing, and leadership at Rockwell International and John Deere. She became John Deere’s first female engineering director and later led global organizations of more than 2,500 people. Trained through the NeuroLeadership Institute, Nancy began coaching while still at John Deere and now partners with senior leaders and executives navigating transition, growth, and change. She also serves as a senior advisor to Boston Consulting Group and advises technology organizations. The youngest of fifteen children, Nancy has spent a lifetime observing how people think, react, connect, and change. She lives in Waukee, Iowa with her husband, Paul, near their children Hannah, Cody, Josh and Mariáh and their granddaughter, Sylvia.
