Cody calls itself the Rodeo Capital of the World and backs it up with the Cody Nite Rodeo, which has run every single summer night since 1938 โ the only nightly rodeo in the country. The Cody Stampede each Fourth of July is among the premier rodeos on the professional circuit, filling the town Buffalo Bill founded with parades and fireworks. The Buffalo Bill Center of the West, a Smithsonian-affiliated complex of five museums, hosts events including a June powwow that draws dancers and drum groups from across the region. Dinner shows and cowboy music revues round out summer evenings at the gateway to Yellowstone.
