Lewisburg is a Greenbrier Valley town of 4,000 with cultural assets that defy its size. Carnegie Hall — one of the few Carnegie Halls in the world still in continuous use — presents concerts, comedy, and performances in a 1902 classical revival building. Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the state's official professional theater, stages a year-round season downtown. Each August, the State Fair of West Virginia sets up just south of town with grandstand concerts and ten days of Appalachian fairground tradition. Add a walkable downtown of galleries and farm-to-table restaurants, and Lewisburg makes a strong case as one of America's coolest small towns.
