Ogden's Historic 25th Street, once so rowdy it was reportedly off-limits to railroad crews, has become the heart of one of Utah's liveliest event scenes. Peery's Egyptian Theater, a wonderfully odd 1924 Egyptian Revival movie palace, hosts concerts, film, and Sundance Film Festival screenings each winter. The summer Twilight concert series brings national touring acts to the downtown amphitheater at prices that pack the lawn, while Ogden Pioneer Days each July stages one of the country's larger rodeos. With three ski resorts up Ogden Canyon and a farmers market that doubles as a street festival, the old railroad town has fully reinvented itself.
