Deadwood plays its outlaw history to the hilt, with Main Street saloons hosting live music beneath the same gulch walls where Wild Bill Hickok played his last hand. The Days of '76 Rodeo each July, running since 1924, is one of the most decorated rodeos in the country, complete with historic parades down Main Street. Summer brings classic car gatherings with free oldies concerts, gunfight reenactments daily, and festival weekends that fill the casinos and historic hotels. The whole town is a National Historic Landmark, which makes even an ordinary evening of live music feel like time travel with a beer in hand.
