Jacksonville is a preserved Gold Rush town in southern Oregon that happens to host one of the Northwest's loveliest music traditions: the Britt Music & Arts Festival, a full summer season of concerts on the hillside estate of pioneer photographer Peter Britt. National touring artists across rock, folk, country, and classical play under the ponderosas, with the Britt Festival Orchestra anchoring the classical weeks. The town itself β brick storefronts, historic cemeteries, wine-country surroundings β makes the pre-show stroll part of the evening. With Ashland's Shakespeare scene twenty minutes away, this corner of the Rogue Valley earns its cultural reputation many times over.
