Branson is live entertainment as an entire economy — an Ozark mountain town with dozens of theaters along its famous strip, staging music, comedy, magic, and variety shows from morning matinees through evening spectaculars. Sight & Sound Theatres mounts massive biblical productions on a panoramic stage, Dolly Parton's Stampede serves dinner with cavalry charges, and family acts like the Presleys (no relation to Elvis) have performed continuously since the strip's earliest days. Silver Dollar City, the 1880s-themed park, runs major festivals through the year, including one of the country's great Christmas light events. Nobody leaves Branson complaining there was nothing to see.
