Paducah is a UNESCO Creative City โ one of just a handful in the United States โ recognized for its crafts and folk art traditions. The National Quilt Museum draws visitors from around the world, and QuiltWeek each spring fills the town with tens of thousands of quilters in what locals cheerfully describe as the city's Super Bowl. The Carson Center hosts touring Broadway, concerts, and comedy on the riverfront, while the Lower Town Arts District keeps galleries and studio events going year-round. Barbecue on the River each fall adds smoke, music, and crowds to the historic downtown blocks.
