Yuletide MONSTERS!

Kenmore Branch. Why do we leave milk and cookies out for Santa? Where did the idea of stockings come from? Little do we know that many of our holiday traditions stem from the need to survive the winter and the monsters that lurked in those dark, cold nights of days gone by. Get to know the original characters of Christmas before Santa Claus such as Krampus, the Yule Cat, the Tomtar, and others. Presented by author, lecturer, and museum curator Amanda Woomer. Amanda's book, Krampus’s Great Big Book of Yuletide Monsters, will be available for purchase at the event. This program is for ages 10 and up and registration is required. Call the library at 716-873-2842 or stop in to register. Individuals in need of an accommodation may contact the ADA Coordinator at access@buffalolib.org within 7 days of the program.
