Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon Fall Concert Series Performance November 14, 2026, 7:30 p.m. The Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon (YSSO) will present a performance at the Collier Center’s Craterian Theater at 7:30PM on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The concert will showcase the musicians of the Youth Symphony and the Youth Orchestra under the direction of interim conductor Steve Kessler. The featured Youth Symphony work on the Fall Concert Series program will be the Finale of Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, Op. 26. The violin soloist will be 2026 Concerto Competition winner Louvencia Blumhardt. The concert will also include music by Antonin Dvořák, Brian Balmages, Paul Dukas, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and others. Since 1988, the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon has brought accomplished young musicians to the Craterian Theater and stages across the Rogue Valley, performing orchestral masterworks, concerti, film, ballet, and opera scores, and contemporary music. YSSO performances are accessible, audiences are multigenerational, and the impact of the inspiring performances is lasting. The YSSO believes music is a catalyst for community engagement, personal growth, and a cohesive society. The YSSO supplements school music programs, strengthens the region’s arts sector, and gives young people a place where their contribution genuinely matters. In addition to the performances, the musicians build listening skills, empathy, lasting friendships, and the discipline that comes from mastering intellectual and technical challenges. Whether a YSSO musician goes on to become an engineer, educator, nurse, physician, business or faith leader, parent, professional musician, attorney, accountant, or astronaut, the habits of collaboration travel with them. The Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon is an organization in which every person’s sound contributes to the music.
