About this event
Chronic insomnia is the most common sleep disorder and serves as a risk factor for both mental and physical health conditions. This talk will teach listeners how brief periods of insomnia occur, how poor sleep impacts us, and how our physiology and behavior often turn a few nights of bad sleep into chronic insomnia. Listeners will also learn about the most effective treatments for insomnia and how they can apply some of these principles in their own lives to either prevent or treat chronic insomnia. This event will be livestreamed. Watch it here → MEET YOUR PRESENTER Harrison Dickens, M.A. is a 5th year doctoral clinical psychology student at the University of Arkansas. Harrison’s research is focused on understanding how changes in our stress systems occur and how these changes impact insomnia. In addition to his research, Harrison is an instructor, mentor, and clinician, treating patients with a range of psychological disorders including those with chronic insomnia.
