Young Writers Workshop: Creativity and Voice

Virginia Bennett Room. Join us for a fun and interactive 90-minute creative writing workshop designed for young writers ages 9–12! Through a collaborative storytelling activity, an engaging lesson, individual writing time, and supportive peer feedback, participants will explore how characters, conflict, dialogue, description, and imagination bring stories to life. Participants will create their own short piece, share ideas with other young writers, and practice revising their work. The workshop is designed to make writing feel creative, approachable, and enjoyable while helping students build confidence, imagination, and their own unique writing voice. The program is open to the first 15 people in line the day of the program. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
